Job description

New Business Develop a strong pipeline of prospective customers , supporting the BD strategy (VM , TLM , Air & Ocean , Imp. & Exp. etc. ) Visit frequency target: ( face-time with customers ) is 20 customer visits per month , well balanced between existing and prospective customers.
Account Management Develop and maintain customer relationships , in line with SLA and customer needs , to enhance client portfolio , safeguard sales revenue , GP , ensure and measure customer satisfaction. Act as first line contact / account owner and co-operate with OPS , IT and Finance departments within Geodis FF to ensure optimum customer service. Document actions taken in CRM Ensure SOP's being in place to safeguard correct customer handling and business execution. Proactively contact and meet customers to identify opportunities and threats. Identify cross selling opportunities and develop and present additional suitable , profitable business solutions Review and update customer tariffs to maintain sufficient profitability of customers business. Only offer products and services designated to the respective customer classification to avoid over selling / -servicing. Build and maintain intimate customer relationship to understand decision making processes and stakeholders involved.
Credit Management Ensure credit checks for new customers prior to submitting quotations , in line with GSP , credit management policy and in cooperation with the finance department. Support Finance Dept. in case of need ( non-payment of invoices , non-compliance with payment terms ) Document actions taken in CRM Safeguard the Order to Cash Cycle as per defined intercompany rules and processes
Business Solutions Identify and initiate new opportunities to meet customer/prospect needs , in cooperation with Business Solutions departments , IT and OPS , in order to be able to meet customers current and future needs Identify gaps and opportunities in Geodis FF services and advise NSM and Business Solutions department Develop Value Proposals in cooperation with Business Solutions department Identify and initiate new e-solutions opportunities to E-solutions management Involve e-solutions and business solutions competence centres to ensure suitable and competitive value propositions for customers.
External Marketing Identify and act on marketing & sales campaign opportunities.
CRM Ensure CRM usage & full compliance by logging your reports , actions and quotes into CRM.
Sales Development Generate quality sales leads for the global network , especially for strategic trade lanes as per Corporate BD strategy.
Tender Management Allocate tender to correct Tender team , in line with tender process , and ensure correct hand over of customer information.


Global Accountabilities

Annual plan & Budget Develop , implement and execute SGAP , in line with national & corporate sales strategy and market developments , in order to set realistic & ambitious sales goals and contribute to National Sales

Applicant's profile

Bachelor working and thinking level
Needs preferably 3-5 years of sales experience within freight forwarding and logistics industry with proven sales record
Excellent negotiation, questioning & presentation techniques
Good sales techniques, concept sales, customer psychology and purchasing patterns
Fluent in local language and profound English skills
Profound competence in AIR & OCEAN as well as Import & Export
Preferably specific competence and experience in a specific industry
International experience preferred
