Job description

Objective / Purpose of the Job
To coordinate, manage, and oversee the seamless introduction of new Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) into the company's inventory system, ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and operational efficiency across all relevant functions. This role acts as a key liaison between commercial, supply chain, warehouse, and IT teams to support business growth and optimal inventory performance
Dimensions and Quantities

• Responsible for onboarding SKUs
• Direct impact on inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and supply chain performance
• Interface with multiple departments and external suppliers as required

Key Activities / Accountabilities
• End-to-End SKU Onboarding: Manage the lifecycle of new SKU introduction—from initial request through to live status in all relevant systems—ensuring all product attributes, compliance requirements, and documentation are complete and accurate.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with procurement, sales, marketing, warehouse operations, IT, and suppliers to gather and validate all necessary data for each SKU, ensuring alignment and readiness across departments.
• Data Integrity and Quality Control: Perform regular audits and quality checks on SKU data to ensure consistency and accuracy in inventory, warehouse, and ordering systems; address and rectify discrepancies promptly.
• Process Documentation: Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the SKU introduction process, driving process standardization.
• System Updates and Testing: Coordinate with IT to implement and test SKU data in WMS, ERP, and related systems, ensuring new items flow seamlessly through all required platforms.
• Training & Support: Train relevant staff on new SKU processes, documentation standards, and data entry requirements; act as a point of contact for SKU-related queries.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyse process performance, gather stakeholder feedback, and implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and speed of SKU onboarding.
• Project Management: Lead or participate in projects related to new product launches, system migrations, or inventory optimization initiatives, representing the SKU introduction process.
• Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular reports on SKU onboarding progress, issues, and KPIs to management and other stakeholders.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Identify potential risks (e.g., data errors, regulatory issues, operational bottlenecks) in the SKU introduction process and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

Applicant's profile

Essential Education and/ or Training

• Experience in the logistics industry
• Stock Management
• Experience of managing staff on a shift, managing performance and deadlines
• Strong Organisation skills
• Knowledge of SOX compliance desirable
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
• Experience in inventory management, SKU setup, or product data onboarding
• Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and ERP platforms
• Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes
• Industry knowledge
• Experience in producing daily/ weekly reports
• Customer Facing Experience
• Ability to use Microsoft Office/Excel/PowerPoint
• SAP Experience in reporting and of a high standard
• Ability to manage several separate departments
Necessary Technical / Functional Skills

• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels of staff
• Ability to effectively communicate via telephone and email
• Presentation skills
Required Behavioural Competencies

• Experience in inventory management, SKU setup, or product data onboarding
