Monday to Friday, 09:30-18:00 - 40 hours
Based in Coventry but contract allows for flexibility in place of work as needed

Job description

Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations for imports, exports, and transit movements in line with HMRC and international trade regulations.
Ensure all shipments comply with relevant customs laws, tariff classifications, and duty rates.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs procedures, duty reliefs, and trade agreements.
Verify and validate customs documentation.
Liaise with internal teams, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and external partners to ensure smooth and timely clearance of goods.
Provide support to internal departments regarding customs-related queries and ensure compliance with customer and company policies.
Monitor and track shipments, proactively addressing potential customs delays or compliance issues.
Support management and colleagues by assisting with training on customs processes, compliance requirements, and regulatory updates.
Contribute to the development and improvement of customs procedures and documentation standards.
Maintain accurate records of all customs declarations and transactions in line with audit and compliance requirements.
Generate and submit reports to HMRC and internal stakeholders within agreed timelines.
Assist with customs audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews as needed.
Work towards KPIs for customs clearance and compliance, ensuring minimal delays and efficient movement of goods.
Identify and report potential risks, errors, or discrepancies in customs declarations and documentation.
Support management in resolving customs-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
Gather information required to create accurate, compliant and on time customs declarations for Goods Inbound and outbound, operate with DMS and NCTS via communication with customer services administration, Port agents, hauliers - carriers and customers representatives.
Reviewing data received in inhouse Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Goods arrival/dispatch management and control providing correct and on time entry instructions to port agencies, stock control with clear documentation overview.

Customs – Data entry 100% Accurate data entry to customs entry system, Bonded Warehouse DMS, NCTS, Transit type 1, 2 and documentation
Offer guidance and information to internal and external customers for customs control and compliance.
Customs Taxation – Management Accurate Duty and Vat control.

•Customs knowledgeable
Import and Export experience
Experience of Importing and exporting goods in//out Customs Warehouse controlled stock
Experience of working for a Logistics service provider
High levels of Communication and Customer Service
IT skills
UK Export / Import processing – Customs Warehousing, NES/NCTSHMRC Customs Procedures to AEO required standards
Knowledge of HMRC Taxation management and reclaims, Customs procedures for Import and Export
