Job description

The SHEQ Coordinator is a key member of the site team, a QSHE Coordinator supports the implementation of the SHEQ management system and oversees company operations to help keep the business running safely. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of agreed QSHE standards.

Key Activities / Accountabilities
• Understand significant risk, aspects & impacts at divisional/site level. This includes an initial review and further ongoing reviews as part of the management system process. This may be completed in the form of risk and or impact registers
• Ensuring that the site is complying with all applicable legal and other requirements through reviewing relevant procedures and amending their aspects and internal audit schedule as necessary.
• To drive forward towards becoming leading edge in our contribution to the health, safety environment and quality agenda, both internally and externally through trialling new technologies and processes that both meet business needs and our customers
• Establish working relationships with relevant external SHEQ organisations
• To support the General Managers in the execution of their responsibilities in relation to health, safety, environment and quality, this includes the development of a succession plan.
• To undertake training required to implement the system (provided by the centre).
• To support the implementation and review a local communications plan to ensure colleagues are engaged in the regional / UK CL and local policies and targets
• To record any regulator visits/communications invited or otherwise onto GEODIS UK CL system
• To regularly attend / organise SHEQ meetings to ensure knowledge sharing and development of the SHEQ MS along with the reviewed of the SHEQ MS performance of SHEQ targets and objectives and any recommendations resulting from audits or inspections, either internal or external, are addressed in the shortest time scale which is reasonably practicable.
• Development of safe operating procedures working in conjunction with training teams
• That the site has identified all emergency situations and has created and communicated an emergency plan and associated measures to reduce their impact on SHE.
• Emergency drills are conducted in line with the logistics fire manual
• Site escalate incidents in line with the Business Continuity Manual and logistics escalation procedure
• To ensure all site licenses are being monitored and renewed where applicable.
• All site records are retained for the required retention times as specified within the manual.
• Coordinating and reviewing internal and external audits

Applicant's profile

Essential Education and/ or Training
• GCSEs in Math's, English and Science (grades A to C) an advantage
• Supply Chain Specific Qualifications an advantage
• IOSH Risk Assessment
• NEBOSH Cert or willing to work towards one
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
• General knowledge of QSHE processes
• Excellent communication skills including the delivery of training to all levels of management.
• PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Ability to generate or write basic reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal in common sense
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
