Job title

Regional Airfreight Gateway Import Agent (m/f/x)

Job description

• Liaising with cartage agents to arrange the pickup or delivery of freight or containers,
• Selecting appropriate road carriers and routing based on shipment characteristics or customer requirements,
• Coordinating with road carriers to confirm bookings, obtaining shipping details, negotiating competitive spot rates, and verifying departures,
• Examining import documentation such CMR, Road Manifest, T1-customs bond document, ensuring accuracy and completeness, or requesting revised documents,
• Adhering to Geodis Freight Forwarding SOP for standard requirements, preparing and finalizing Road consolidations,
• Implementing customer-specific SOP for additional customer-specific requirements,
• Identifying shipments requiring special handling and ensuring regulatory compliance due to shipment characteristics or value, documentation, commodity, country of origin or destination, shipper, or consignee,
• Inputting required information into the Geodis Freight Forwarding Freight Management System,
• Data Quality & Milestone Checks
• Producing and reviewing documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness,
• Finalizing the accrual and billing process,
• Complying with all applicable regulations,
• Determining carrier mix and Road consolidation schedules, preparing, and maintaining Road carrier allocations,
• Pre-Claims and Claims handling
• Correspondence with the global GEODIS network, airlines, GHAs (Ground Handling Agents), warehouses, and all subcontractors, also in English.
• Internal Support for Export Air Gateway Team with LineHauls from EU to FRA

Applicant's profile

• Successfully completion of vocational training on Freight Forwarding,
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role,
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment,
• Good knowledge in Import Regulations, Import License requirements, and other Import compliance & customs topics,
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications,
• Fluent in English and German,
• Willing to work on weekends (in case is needed) on a rotating basis within the team,
