Main Tasks of an Apprentice/Trainee (Kauffrau/Kaufmann EFZ):
Administrative and Organizational Support:
Perform general administrative tasks such as managing documents, organizing schedules, handling correspondence, and supporting daily office operations.
Application of Business Software and Digital Tools:
Use standard business applications (e.g., MS Office, databases, content management systems), maintain digital files and data, and ensure adherence to data security and privacy regulations.
Communication and Customer Service:

The Inside Sales Representative for Sea, Air and Road Freight is responsible for generating sales leads, building relationships with potential clients, and securing new business to achieve revenue targets. This role involves understanding customer needs, providing tailored sea freight solutions, and promoting GEODIS's services. The Inside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in driving business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction.

1. Lead Generation:
o Identify and qualify potential customers through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, and online research.
o Develop and maintain a pipeline of leads to ensure a steady flow of sales opportunities.
o Utilize CRM software to track and manage leads and sales activities.

2. Customer Engagement:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
o Conduct virtual meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase GEODIS's sea freight services.
o Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their logistics requirements.

3. Sales Conversion:
o Convert leads into sales by effectively communicating the value of GEODIS's freight services.
o Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with customers to close deals.
o Achieve and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.

4. Market Analysis:
o Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
o Provide insights and feedback to the sales team and management to inform strategic decisions.
o Identify opportunities for new business and market expansion.

5. Customer Service:
o Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing timely updates.
o Serve as a point of contact for customers, offering support and assistance throughout the sales process.
o Maintain professional and responsive communication with customers.

6. Collaboration:
o Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
o Collaborate with marketing and other departments to develop sales strategies and promotional materials.
o Participate in team meetings and contribute to sales planning and strategy development.

7. Reporting and Documentation:
o Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions.
o Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

8. Healthcare Activities:
o Act as a contact of competence for health care customers.
o Ensure that all transport operations are conducted in line with WHO TRS 957 and EU GDP Guidelines (2013/C 343/01).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
REQUIREMENTS :
• A minimum of five years of freight forwarding experience, with extensive knowledge and expertise in Air and Ocean Freight Operations; experience in Road Freight Operations is considered an asset.
• GDP experience very desirable
• Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously.
• Demonstrated commitment to identifying and implementing more efficient or cost-effective solutions.
• Customer focused and commercially astute with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks, effective time management and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in German and English. French is a plus.
• Ability to think out of the box, solve problems and remain calm under pressure.&lt;br /&gt;

Network Strategy &amp; Management
• Define Network Strategy in cooperation with Charter Network that enables long-term growth plans
• Continuously review network assets and infrastructure (gateways, hubs and feeder services) to deliver optimal productivity and consistent quality of service to the internal and external customer
• Develop short-term network plans (commercial / scheduled charter) within Network Strategy to react on market conditions/requirements

Capacity Planning and Management 
• Liaise with Charter Network the availability of capacity at costs and supports reaching the margin targets defined
• Coordinate with Regional Airfreight or Trade-lane Management to procure additional capacity to supplement existing capacity requirements
•	Optimisation of profitability / co-loader markets
•	Manage, optimise &amp; monitor internal contacts, SOP (process) / SLA (KPIs) 

Procurement Strategy
• Define Procurement Strategy and its underlying subcontractor portfolio for the group and ensure execution
• Define standards for the global procurement and the delineation of procurement responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain the procurement planning process.

Carrier Selection and Contracting
• Negotiate core subcontractor agreements, including global rate, capacity and service agreements and related incentives
• Define contract standards in close alignment with legal department
• Set KPI-framework to be applied in the countries for specific SLAs with carriers
• Provide support (e.g. driven by negotiated carrier incentive agreements) to country product teams to support cargo steering according to contractual incentives

Regional Commercial Carrier and Subcontractor Management
• Develop carrier evaluation methodology and guidelines with CHO for sustainable carrier relationship and performance management in alignment with Standards &amp; Governance
• Align with Compliance and QHSE to ensure all carriers and subcontractors policies are in line with all current rules and regulations
• Monitor and control core, strategic, tactical carriers
• Act as regional escalation point and resolve procurement issues with carriers
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic carriers 

Procurement Performance Management &amp; Carrier Incentive Management
• Ensure adherence of Procurement to agreed standards

General &amp; Revenue Management
• Keep abreast of industry changes, market situation and customer requirements; update all respective working colleagues within the geographies on the changes of market conditions
Participate in joint Sales meeting and Weekly Airfreight calls
• Determine Net Achieved Rates per season together with Global RCOM Team and Regional Airfreight Director (cost)
Participate in joint customer visits
Development of consolidation ratio – report / dashboard
Setup fixed cost for mid and long term in cooperation with the country teams&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/ Economics/ Logistics
• 5-10 years of work experience (minimum)
• 5-10 years of overall industry experience (minimum)
• 5-10 years of experience in people management and leadership, including recruitment, training &amp; development, coaching, conflict and performance management (minimum)
• 5-10 years of experience in Logistics procurement (minimum)
• International working experience preferred
• CargoWise Knowledge is a plus
